San Francisco shopping

Where are the best places to shop? I don't want chain stores, I want locally owned unique shops. Clothes, art, jewelry, etc

You'd probably enjoy UNION STREET between Steiner & Van Ness. Great variety of shops with a strong local flavor (as well as some chains such as Armani A/X etc.). Plan to have lunch and/or dinner on Union as well.
Enjoy San Francisco!

24th Street (in Noe Valley) and Haight Street both have a lot of local stores and boutiques. Also there are some neat shops on Grant in North Beach.

Go to Lush, right off Union Square on Powell. It's the only one in the United States. (others are in Europe) Organic bath & body products. Very fun and funky.
