What is "dirty stuff" as it relates to piano bars?!

There are some piano bar performers who specialize in bawdy, off-color material (lyrically speaking). It's generally very funny but not what some folks are looking for in entertainment.

Thanks Owen,
I play music and yes, that's what I mean. Right, late into the night you might change the lyrics a bit, do some limericks, etc...but in some piano bars it's a back-to-back assault on women, southerners, gays, etc, etc. It's all an act- you hear the same stuff at all of them. I enjoy the sing-along players and please, God, no karaoke (which is a Japanese word meaning "cannot sing")

Go to sfgate.com and see what's on the calendar for this weekend. There's always lots of live entertainment in SF.

Well, we took the Fodorite advice and went to the Top of the Mark in the Mark Hopkins Hotel.Great band, dancing...very romantic spot overlooking the city.
