Roslaire still hasn't emailed me and I'm going to be unavailable for a couple of hours.

Paula, maybe she can contact you or Shanghainese and see if she can arrange a ride with you.

Otherwise, I'll be near SFO around 10:30-11 and can pick her up then.

Hope we can connect with her so she doesn't have to come in by taxi again!

See you all! Can't wait!

Sorry for the delay ladies.

I won't be able to make it today. I called E&O to have them let you know and sent a few emails.

I won't be able to come.

Sorry for the late cancellation.

Have fun. Enjoy. Maybe I can come to the next one. (if I'll be allowed to come, ahem.)

I don't know if I'm unable to find a report or nobody posted.

It was another successful meeting, great choice of a restaurant, Shanghainese! E&O is in the Union Square area, the closest BART is Montgomery, no view to speak of, maybe partial view from the 2nd floor, but the inside decor makes up for it.

Tasty food served home-style for everybody to share. Wine - we had chardonnay from St Louis Obispo, forgot the name of course They have a long list of wines.

To my slight embarassment we sang happy b-day, and Paula and I got gifts. Thank you all!

We just sat and talked and ate and drank. And you know what? I'm ready for a next GTG

Thank you Shanghainese for picking E&O, the food and the decor was lovely. However, the best part was the company. We were there about 3 hours and it flew by. Next time we will have to make it a longer GTG because we have so much to discuss.

I was also slightly embarassed about the singing but I enjoyed co-celebrating my birthday with Faina and all my Bay area Fodorite friends.

We'll start planning the next one soon.

Shanghainese and Faina: kudos for a terrific choice of restaurant and for all the hard work you both put into pulling this one together for us.

We had a GREEAT time togethet! Always! Lots of talking and eating and not as much drinking this time as everyone had to drive somewhere except for the "native" San Franciscan, Faina!

Paula, I'm so sorry about your camera. Did you get to a camera shop at all? Hope it's OK.

artlover: I'll put you on my calendar if you'll put me on yours. First week of November in Seattle.

roslaire, trippin, withkids, and others: very sorry we missed you this time but there's always a next time!

ET - My camera seems to be OK. However there was only one picture of us on there instead of the 2 the waiter took. So maybe the last picture was erased when the camera fell. I will try to post the picture soon although I might need some help on how to size it right for posting. If nothing else, I can do the link to kodakgallery which is where I store my pictures.

easytraveler,
I'm going to be THERE--in S.F.--Nov. 10-16--but if you're going to be here--in Seattle the first week, yes, let's get together in Seattle. Otherwise, sometime Nov. 10-16 in S.F.

Paula: boy, is that a relief about your camera! I was feeling really badly since it passed from my hand to yours - and dropped on the floor! Please post the single piece of evidence that we were even together!

artlover: I'll arrange the GTG here if you'll arrange the one in Seattle. Which day would work best for you? Lunch or dinner? What type of cuisine? I'll get with Shanghainese and Faina and see what we can come up with. Not lacking for choice around here. LOL!

As for Seattle, if it's just you and me, then Friday lunch would work, Nov.2. Otherwise, if a larger group, then Friday night might work better. I'd love to see your DH again too! We sure talked a lot, didn't we?

roslaire: see you at the next SF GTG, which might be in October or see you at the November one.

easyrider,
that's a deal! I'll arrange it for Seattle for Nov. 2. I've been having lunch with another fodorite who is terrific, and I know you'd like her too and we can just see who else wants to show up. And then you can have dinner with DH and me--I know he'd love to chat some more with you!

As for SF--dinner would probably be best but if that's not good for others, I could do lunch too. I won't have a car, but will be staying near the Civic Center. I'm open to all types of food.

We could go into more detail on e-mail--mine is [email protected]

Sounds like fun!

Right now watching "God's Warriors" with Christiane Amanpour - absolutely fascinating!

See you tomorrow!
