razzle - I think that is one of the best things to do in the Bay Area. We take the ferry from Tiburon rather than SF because it is easier in and out and parking is cheaper. Not long ago in the Mercury News though, there was an article about car-free outings from the South Bay. Caltrain to SF and the ferrry to Angel Island to ride bikes was one of the featured outings. I think we will try that one soon.

If we are talking www.belden-place.com ? that's a great area. I didn't realize there were hotels there. But it's a good location imo to be in SF without a car. Easy walking and street-cars everywhere.
