San Francisco Airport

Had booked a flight from Boise to Athens a month or so ago and the airlines have changed the times and my reservation is now all screwed up. the new flight has me going from Boise to San Francisco on United Express and from San Francisco to Toronto on Air Canada and we only have a 50 minute layover. It looks to me like we should be flying into Terminal 3 (boarding area F) and departing from the International Terminal (boarding area G). Is that enough time? Will we need to go back through security?

Thanks

I've never landed in SF then took another flight out - because SFO is "home" for us. The international terminal is a completely different terminal - so I assume you'll have to go through security again. It is close to the domestic terminals - but certainly not next door. We fly to Europe quite a bit, and we always allow at least 2 hrs between arrival & departure. I would never book a 50 min gap. You have a slim chance of making the connection, IMO. If you have checked bags - they have a slimmer chance. I wouldn't want the anxiety of such a short layover.

Don't know which "the airlines" you are dealing with.
Allegiant does fly from Boise to Las Vegas. Spend a night in LV and then get on the Delta flight in the morning to MSP. You have over an hour to connect with the flight to CDG (Paris) and have another shorter flight to Athens. Expedia has the cost from LAS to ATH at about $1100/PP (Delta all the way).

No, you do not have to go through security again.
Five years ago SFO opened a new walkway between Terminal 3 and International (prior to this there was a shuttle bus). It is a 3-5 minute walk, post-security. The walkway is located next to Gate 75 in Terminal 3.

I think you do have to go though security again and you may be cutting it close. if tthe airlines re-booked these flights for you, you need to call them and try to get a better connections. Talk to a supervisor that has authority to do this for you without extra fees.

You have to go through security again if you are coming from Terminal 1 or 2. You do not if coming from Terminal 3 and use the walkway.

See point 3 under "Getting around at SFO".
