Hello LoveItaly I'm from Pesaro, on the Adriatic coast, middle of Italy, 20 miles south of Rimini. Have you ever been in this part of the country?
I've been in SF before but always very quickly so didn't have the chance to "really" visit the city...which I want to do during this next vacation in August....and for what I've seen....I loved it. Any suggestion, not only about food, would be appreciated. Have a nice day

Hello ecoli! Yes, I have been very fortunate to have been along your beautiful Adriatic coast several times. I have never been further south then Bari however. And I do know where your Pesaro is! You are familar with Pescara I am sure. We always stayed at the Hotel Carlton in Pescara. It is just across the street from the beach. A very good location for enjoying the seaside, shopping, taking leisurly walks and of course the seafood restaurants on the beach. I have not been along the Adriatic since I lost my husband and I have missed being there. Since I am now on my own I go to the Region of Veneto and then various friends from Veneto and/or Florence and I visit different places. Sadly none of them seem interested in visiting the Adriatic coastline.

Ecoli, besides food, drinks and music what else interests you? I imagine you enjoy walking in San Francisco? Do you want to do any shopping or just look at items in the stores or in the windows? Do you like being on the water?

I have to leave in a bit but I will check this thread later today when I return home. I wish I lived in San Francisco as I would so love to meet you and share some time with you.

Hi LoveItaly looks like you know Italy very well. Of course I'm familiar with Pescara though I don't know the city as well as you...(lol). The South of Italy is very beautiful, Sicily for example is amazing. You got a little bit of everything there, nice sea, cities with an impressive historical background, good food, sun and nice people. If you have the chance spend a few days there during your next vacation over here.
In San Francisco I want to do all I can do in 3 days. I want to visit the city more than go shopping. I will have time to spend money later on my trip.
I'm trying to find out if there's anything I can do besides what travel guides say. I'm not interested in musuems.
I asked about restaurants (casual dining by the way) because when you're in a foreign city and you don't know where to go you often end up in one of those "touristic place" which I don't wanna do...I would have been nice to meet you in San Francisco...hope to hear from you again
