Hi Anita.....your question is one of the most popular ones in this message board so I would suggest typing the city in the text search so you can pull up all the past questions about it...dozens of them I would imagine. Good luck!! If u like books, visit citylights bookstore and vesuvio, a bar steeped in history next door. they're my favorites.

Union square is always a great place to check out the many smelly homeless drug addicts shooting up and defecating in public. The smell of urine as you stroll past the upscale stores is always a treat.

1. search for "san francisco" on this site.

2. search for "san francisco" on google.

3. upon arrival read hotel lobby booklets.

4. go to visitor's information center (Powell @ Market) at cable car turnaround, downstairs aquarium-looking building

bottom line: do your homework. nobody will do it for you.

Anita,

Do you have some specific interests? San Francisco is a very diverse city and maybe if you identify them, the helpful posters on this board can come through for you. I think if you do a search of San Francisco, you'll definitely have a lot of material to sift through.

There are a number of neighborhoods in the City that are fun to visit. Chinatown and North Beach (Little Italy) come to mind right away. If you like baseball, come and see the Giants play at Pacific Bell Park. Even if the Giants aren't in town, you can tour the ballpark. I think it's $10/person to go on the tour. Check the Giants website at www.sfgiants.com.

There are other great places nearby, like Monterey, the Wine Country.

Please provide some more specifics! Thanks.
