San Fran / Yosemite Honeymoon

My soon-to-be hubby and I have made plans to honeymoon in Yosemite. We're flying into San Francisco and staying a few nights, then driving over to Yosemite.

We've made reservations for a cabin through Yosemite's Four Seasons. I cannot find any info on renting a cabin inside the park. All of the park-run hotels were full for the length of time we wanted. Any info is appreciated.

How cold will it be the end of October?

Sounds great! Your questions can probably all be answered at the National Park section on the main page. Also do a search here, this has come up recently.

The two places we have stayed out near the park are Tenaya Lodge (which is very nice but lacks the history of the Awahnee) and the Apple Creek Inn. The ACI is more cabin/condo like(very new) with a mess hall.It has a pool and a spa. It is new and more upscale than regular cabins though. It is accross the street from the Tenaya. Tenaya has sleigh rides if it is snowing and a beautiful fireplace lobby area for sitting by the fireplace. These two are twenty minutes or so to the gate, and yet another 40 minutes to the valley where many people gather.Don't miss checking out the Wawona Hotel. It is beautiful when it snows.

If you still want to try for a spot in the park, keep calling to ask about cancelations, as they do often happen. www.yosemitepark.com is the site for the concessionaire, and has all the lodging info.

Try for the Ahwahnee, it's the best experience in Yosemite.

Have you tried "The Redwoods in Yosemite" ? They rent studios to large homes. They have a website at: www.redwoodsguestcottages.com...If you wanted a real blowout honeymoon stay try the "Chateaux du Sureau" that is just outside of Yosemite. Incredible food and rooms! They have a web site at: www.chateaudusureau.com or go to www.jans-journeys.com/chateaux for a review and lots of pictures.

Happy Honeymoon!
