San Diego w/family
Going in August with just retired parents and our 2 year old. Wondering if we should stay in a "suite" hotel or condo. Want nice, clean place in safe area. Any experience with Embassy vs. Residence in San Diego area. Thanks!

Alohaaaa,
We just returned from a successful trip to SD. We forgot how beautiful and unique that city really is.
We had our "get out of town" lunch at Anthony's and then had time to kill so we walked the waterfront to get a pic of "The Connie" (USS Constellation).
Looking back towrds the city we noticed an Embassy Suites that looked to be near the Gaslamp/Convention Center area and remarked that we may look into staying there our next trip down since it's pretty central to G'Lamp, Seaport Village, The Waterfront, 'vention Center, Little Italy.
Nice way to get around in the area are the "bikers" who haul you around in a small carriage...like a rickshaw.
Looked cool. One even offerred to haul my ample carcass around. He musta been drinkin' or the route was all downhill!
Good luck!

If you're staying at the Emb Suites we saw you're prob only about a 10 min car ride to Balboa Park/Zoo and prob about 15-20 mins to Sea World...depending on the time you leave as SD is like any other big city with rush hour/special event traffic probs.
Still, those areas are pretty close in.
