Looking for week long stay in san diego for 4 adults and 1 toddler- thought vacation rental would be cost effective.

Try Penny Realty - they've been around for a long time. pennyrealty.com

For how long?
Have you looked at VRBO.com? There are some really nice apartments there.

Although VRBO are the largest vacation rentals site, there are lots of other good sites out there. Vacationrentals.com is good for california properties in particular. You can find information on more than 75 different sites on www.compareownerholidayrentals.com .

When do you want to go? Where do you want to stay?

I can tell you that if you want to stay in the Mission or Pacific Beach area in the Summer, expect to pay a hefty sum. *Most* weekly rentals for a 2 BR/2 BA are about $3000 per week and go up from there. These are the units with pretty much immediate access to the beach & boardwalk.

I live in san diego and was thinking of renting my 2 bedroom house out for a month or more in june/july and possibly august for $2500 a month. i put an ad on craigslist but haven't had any replies. any suggestions where else i might advertise online? it's not the beach but is in an historic part of SD, up the hill from old town, 2-3 miles from the zoo and sea world, 3 miles to the beaches, trolley access to petco park, etc. i thought my price was good and offered wireless internet, satellite, fully equipped kitchen. it will cover my expenses for that period of time which is essentially why i want to do a summer rental. Any suggestions/feedback would be appreciated. thanks. [email protected]

oops. guess i didn't fully read the other posts in this section. just checked out vacationrentals.com. think i might try listing there. however, i wanted to list for a month at a time. any feedback on whether you think that is too long a period for a rental? i see everything else listing by the week. thanks again. When are you coming into town? Summer is usually booked up a year in advanced..it's the same families that take up the Mission Beach and Pacific Beach rentals..AZ crowd.. alot of young people..
Have you thought about renting in La Jolla or Del Mar?
You might be better off if you can get a hotel.. Penny Realty is great and they have the market in the MB and PB area..
Hotels that if you can get in, I would do it NOW..
ljbtc.com Sea Lodge is oceanfront.
lajollacove.com
hotellajolla.com
thegrandecolonial.com
laubergedelmar.com
Wishing you all the best!
