san Diego trip this week-Immediate need of Help
I am headed to SD tomorrow and staying until Sunday evening. My boyfriend and I love being outside and wanted to hit all the beaches. The weather is only going to be a high of 72 degrees. That seems cold to me to be on the beach...any thoughts?? will we get beach time. I have good plans to hit all the major tourist sites, but wanted 'off the beaten path" suggestions because the weather may not be super great for beaches all day.
Please help we Leave tomorrow..

SoCal beach weather reports generally sound like this: "Late-night, early morning low clouds and fog, clearing to the afternoons." Beach time is usually from 10 to 3-ish--between the fog hours. Water will be cool if you are from the right coast (water comes from Alaska as opposed to the Gulf Stream).

Well you don't say where you are staying, but we LOVE the Pacific Beach area of SD. Walk down Crystal Pier, eat at Kono's which is a wonderful little place right at the pier that serves the best breakfast for $4!! We went there everyday of our trip.
I would recommend heading up to Torrey Pines and watching the parasailers jumping off the cliffs. Or sign up and do it! My hubby and 13 year old daughter did it and it was amazing.
The Scripps Aquarium was really nice and the view from outside was breath taking.
I hope this helps a little. If you are adventursome I would also recommend that you take some surf lessons and try it. We used Surfari and they were great. All three of my kids were up and surfing within an hour!! They supplied everything, even the wet suits.
I would also recommend kayaking in La Jolla bay and seeing the baby sharks...not sure if they are still there, but it was a very nice time too.
Good Luck

Sorry but the weather is one thing you just can't count on. yesterday would have been a beautiful beach day here in San Diego, today it's still a little overcast but starting to burn off. the only good part about it not been hot and sunny is the beach will not be crowded, bring a sweatshirt and enjoy not having the crowds. i did read in the morning paper that by thrusday there is supposed to be less overcast at the coast so maybe you will get lucky on your visit and get some nice beach days.

"That seems cold to me to be on the beach...any thoughts??" 72º is not really considered cold/cool anywhere much along the CA coast. It is a whole different beach experience than in the SE or or some other parts of the States.
