San Diego - Sand Castle Beach

We are staying at a condo at Sand Castle beach in January. Is this nice? Are there any restaurants or activities around there? We don't really need much as we are taking our 2 year old. Thanks for the help!

I lived in San Diego for over 20 years and never heard of Sand Castle Beach. Maybe it has a more familiar name.

I can't place it, either ... and I've lived in San Diego for 48 years. What's the address of your condo?

I believe that it is on Imperial Beach. It is where the U.S. Sandcastle competitions are held.
Thanks for the interest!

I have been living in San Diego for many years and like the others. I have never heard of San Castle Beach.

If it is at Imperial beach then you are not in the best area. It is not really bad so I wouldn't get too worried about it. However if given a choice, I would opt to stay from downtown San Diego north up the coast. Imperial Beach is about as far south as you can go without running into Mexico.

I agree with SDSam about Imperial Beach. But assuming that is where you will be, yes, there are restaurants and activities around there. You are about a 15 minute drive from Coronado and Downtown San Diego. You will be in the South Bay area. There is a mall in that area too. I think you can use the Trolley to go North and South from Imperial Beach if you don't have a car. Someone else may want to confirm that by post.

The San Diego Trolley runs from the Mexican border to downtown San Diego. Imperial Beach is west of the trolley but not very far away.
