San Diego baseball tickets
We will be in San Diego in mid-August. We try to catch a professional baseball game when we travel and on schedule Padres are playing Mets while we are there. Is getting tickets a problem - do we need to buy as soon as they go on sale, or can we wait until summer. Any comments on park, atmosphere also appreciated.

San Diego doesn't have a professional team anymore. However, you can get tickets to Padres games very easy, try www.padres.com as a start.
Qualcomm stadium is generally quite good, but if it's a day game, try and get seats on 3rd base side unless you want to bake in the heat.

Gail,
My wife and I visited San Diego this past July and we also try to go to a baseball game if possible. We are from Boston so we found it unbelievably easy to get tickets. There were plenty available two weeks before the game and we got great seats along third base for a great price. After paying way too much to attend baseball games in Boston, reverse sticker shock was a bonus.
Enjoy!

To Eric - we are also from Boston and have also found tickets to be amazingly cheap and easy to come by in other cities - went to Camden Yards last year and the place was half empty. Maybe baseball really is a dying sport and we just don't know it because we live in Boston
Also, thanks to both responders.
