Stay on one of the Riverwalk hotels--we've stayed at the Hyatt, Marriott Riverwalk, and La Mansion and we like La Mansion but there are so many! Take the Riverboat ride and stroll along the river walk for shops and eating. Also have Sea World and Fiesta Texas (evening laser show at Fiesta is nice) and the Mercado shopping and Kings Tour of Historical Homes is pretty. Of course there is the zoo which is fun also. Close to the Riverwalk is the Alamo for a bit of Texas history which should be visited. Trolly car rides, etc the list goes on--expect it to be very hot! E-mail me if you need more specifics. Have fun

All of the above mentioned activities are fun.. HEB also has a new science museum for kids called the Treehouse. I can't remember if you mentioned your child's age or not but there is a Hard Rock Cafe and a Planet Hollywood on the riverwalk. Also, at the rivercenter mall there's the IMAX theater.

Went to San Antonio 2 yrs. ago. Great town. We could stay only 2 days. Enjoyed the Riverwalk - nice restaurants. Took an evening horse and carriage ride with a great driver and a horse named Budweiser. The driver knew lots of interesting bits of history. The ride was inexpensive. Stayed at the ? hotel (Isn't it odd we remember the horse's name, but not the hotel?) It was one of the old ones located right across from the Alamo. Carrie Nation took the ax to the bar there - they preserved that section of the bar. Also Teddy Roosevelt rode a horse into the bar and shot off a gun! Bullet holes still there. There is also a pool in a lovely atrium where you can relax.

I've been to San Antonio twice, I'd suggest the Menger Hotel. Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders hungout at the bar. The Menger is across from the Alamo, a block from the Riverwalk, and seemed to be the
center of the city. Also, check out the King Edward District, great mexican restaurant (Rosalitas?).

I live in San Antonio. The restaurant is Rosario's.
You must sample Mexican food here. Also, downtown for great Mex food try Rio Rio (on the river) or Mi Tierra. Both are very crowded with locals and tourists.
