Rumford for SLoaf/SunRiver?

Hola! Planning a ski trip to Sunday River and Sugarloaf, but want to stay in only 1 hotel/motel/lodge, etc. rather than 3 days one/3 days the other.

My research shows Rumford as the biggest city within 30 min. to Sunday and 1 hour to Sufarloaf. Right or wrong?

Any suggestions for a better venue?

Cheapest lodgings for 1 male single, no frills (well, maybe a great breakfast included...)?

Gracias!

Not sure of the distances, but I would look at Farmington instead. It's a college town so there is more to do there. Knock one (or 3 or 4) back for me at the Narrow Gauge brewery.

Rumford is a small mill town & Farmington is a small college town.Farmington would be an easy drive to Sugarloaf or Saddleback Mtn.As far as lodging goes unless you stay at a condo on the slopes there are mostly smaller "mom & pop" hotels & cabins.
Alot are filled up with snowmobilers esp. on the weekends.

Good luck
