Romatic Getaway

My wedding anniversary is this October - trying to figure out where to go with my wife. Want somewhere special - a place where there is not a lot of kids (we have kids but want to have a romantic time away). Live in NJ so don't want to go to far (definately non-stop) - maybe Florida or Carribbean or Mexico. Willing to spend up to $400-$500 per night - like a nice hotel, nice grounds and pool. We enjoyed Hyatt Coconut Plantation in Fort Meyers (timeshare as well) and Ritz in Cancun. Any ideas?

Have you been to jamaica? My husband and I spent several days at a Couples Resort in Ocho Rios. It was for "couples only" no kids!!! Really nice and all inclusive!!!

I was thinking - what about Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico or Costa Rico - can anyone give me a quick run down on each (e.g,. great beaches, stay in the resort due to safety)? I'm pretty picky about destinations as I want safety (e.g., only travelled to Aruba, Anguilla and Curacao in the Carribbean) as a key priority.

Assuming you have a week, Bermuda or the Virgin Isles would be nice beach getaways. Stateside, a Savannah/Charleston combo trip would be romantic, esp if you stayed at The Olde Savannah Inn (a B&B) in Savannah and the Wentworth Mansion in Charleston.

St. Barts, FWI - private villa with your own pool (doesn't get any more romantic than that)
