Romantic ideas for KW

I will be in KW in a few weeks. Are there any romantic must do's (not places to stay) restaurants, boat tours, etc? Thanks for your help fodorites.

The sunsets are beautiful so maybe you should do a sunset cruise.

Thanks, I had thought of that, I just did not know if there were any unique activities in Key West. I did a search on the forum and all I could find was romantic places to stay.

Lilla - There are several sunset cruises that leave from the Marina area of KW... wander down there and take your pick from Catamarans like Sebago or Sunny Days or bigger ships like Western Union.

Try drinks at the deck of Louie's Backyard(dinner quality has slipped) and then head over to the Cafe Marquesa for one of the Islands best romantic eateries.

If you are looking for a fun outing, try "Guys as Dolls" at the La Ti Da on Duval. For $15 a ticket you will enjoy top-notch impressions of female entertainment greats.

Finally, just take a walk through the mix of neighborhoods, restored island treasures along with gems in the rough.

Hope this helps... have fun

My husband and I go to KW every year and we still go to Blue Heaven for brunch every Sunday. He gets the shrimp & grits and I get the avocado omelet (we look at the menu every time and still get the same thing). There is always a wait and we sit at the bar and he drinks bloody marys and I drink mimosas made with fresh oj. We check out the "rooster graveyard" and the little "museum". (Caution - If you do not like animals, do not go or ask for a table upstairs on the deck because there are little hens and chicks running around on the ground). Afterwards, we just stroll around the neighborhoods near Bahama village. I am not sure why this is romantic but it always is to us. Another restaurant that we really like and was recommended to us about 3 years ago by a local is sevenfish. Kind of off the main drag and you will probably have to wait but the food is really good and it is dark and intimate. You can sit on the bench outside with a glass of wine and watch the stars as you wait for your table. The last time we were in KW we ate at Square One out on the patio. The food is great but even better, the service was amazing. This is on Duval but kind of tucked back off the street so you are away from the bustle. Very romantic atmosphere. We also went on a sunset cruise a few years back - the Fury Catamarans. We liked it but I cannot compare it to any of the others. We had a coupon for 2 for 1 so we just took advantage of that. Stop in at the Green Parrot and have a drink - don't mention Jimmy Buffett in there. But if you like JB, make sure to have a cheeseburger at Denis's Pharmacy. They are good burgers - big and sloppy.

You might enjoy taking the launch over to Sunset Key (private key about 10 minutes away; free boat off Hilton's dock) and having a sunset dinner at Latitudes. Great food, excellent service, & directly on the beach.

I do not think the boat is free to the Hilton Island unless you are eating there which is not the best. Book a sunset cruise on the America or the Floridays.

I don't know if you have gone yet but I found the website for the restaurant I recommended, sevenfish. It includes the menu and prices.
