My fiancee and I are hoping to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon in April. We are in our late 20's and are looking for a romantic resort that has alot of scenery and is laid back, but not sleepy. We don't want to be fighting families for lounge chairs, but we also do want a big, exciting resort. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Maui @ Four Seasons, & (4) nights on
Kauai @ Princeville.

We were looking for a romantic and
quiet setting for our anniversary.
The Halekulani and Four Seasons were
exceptional properties and locations.

Try the Kea Lani Hotel. Evening dinner around the freeform pool with its many bridges, all lit from underwater, candles on the tables and beautiful tropical flowers everywhere make it a truly romantic evening.Try it. You'll love the experience.

I live here on Maui and my choice would
be to check out The Kapalua Bay Hotel..
it is located on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world..
Kapalua Bay.. and they have one of the
most romantic restaurants The Bay Club.
... and it has one of the best sunset views on the island.. and the rooms are
to die for and the service is great.
As well your just a short drive from
the nightlife and great shopping and dineing of Lahaina...

Hi, there, me again!! Yes, the Kea Lani is gorgeous-we stayed there a couple years ago and did go next door to visit the Four Seasons on more than one occasion. Kea Lani would be my second choice because it is a suite property(gorgeous rooms) but for that reason I find you are not pampered as much because one seems to be more self sufficient in a suite with the facilities. At the FS, the fitness centre, tennis, snorkelling equipment, parking, cabanas at the pool - all is included in the rate. We paid 44.00 a day for a cabana at the Kea Lani and they never came around to spritz you with water as they do at the FS. The FS cannot do enough to please you as my friend told me when she came back from there for her honeymoon. Favourite place on Maui for a lot of the stars(for what it is worth) and not snobby at all!! WAtch yourself up at the Kapalua Bay - yes, again an older but elegant property - pool area not that special. Terrfic beach but you need to know that some times of the year the beaches on the north are calmer, and other times the Wailea area is calmer. Kapalua ia also windier and rainier - did you watch the Mercedes golf tournament on TV 2 weekends ago?? It was held in Kapalua and the wind was something else. In April, still winter there technically, I would go for Wailea rather than Kapalua, simply because you'd probably have much sunnier, drier weather there. And you'll have Kea Lani, Four Seasons, etc. to choose from. In fact, you can't go wrong at any of the resorts in Wailea, IMHO, just depends on your budget! Again and again, I do hear raves about the Four Seasons! Have a wonderful trip

We've stayed at all the best properties on Maui and, apologies to Heidi, were rather disappointed with Kapalua Bay. The competition is pretty stiff in Maui, and the Four Seasons is tops in my book. Weather is a concern as well. Kapalua has an "old Hawaii" charm, but when it comes to luxury, it's a step or two behind the best Maui has to offer. My 2 cents.
