Roadworks on the Strip - change hotel?

I have just picked up that there are roadworks on the Strip in Las Vegas in preparation for F1 later this year. We are booked into the Hilton Grand Vacations on the Las Vegas Strip arriving on September 19 for 3 nights. Will we be ok or should we look to try find a different hotel?

You won't be driving on the Strip (or at least won't if you are sensible) - I wouldn't pick a hotel based on the F1 construction.

That HGVC is outside the racecourse loop. The northern part of the course is along Sands Ave and your place is north of there. You can still "go the back way" from the airport but use Maryland Pkwy instead of Paradise Rd. Go all the way to Sahara, turn left (west) onto Sahara, and then turn left onto the boulevard. Other way, the way a taxi driver would want, is to take the freeway to Sahara, go east a bit, and then turn right on LV boulevard. HGVC on the right.

I would much prefer HGVC Flamingo, tho.

Hi mrwinfi - Thanks for the info. Why the HGVC Flamingo?

The location is better. You have to walk thru the Flamingo but then you are at the center strip. Nice rooms with hot tub. It has a monorail station. I thiink you have access to the fab pool at Flamingo, but not sure about that.

You would have wanted to tell the taxi driver to "go the back way", but I think they have fare zones now, so a flat rate.
