Riverboat Gambling in New Orleans?

Is there a riverboat docked by the French Quarter that you can gamble on? I heard there was, but can't find current information. Thanks for your response. Jim

Jim, we were in N.O. last spring and had heard the same thing. However, the boat is not close to the French Quarter anymore. I believe it is a Bally' s Casino and one must drive several miles to it .We took a taxi - I'm not sure we could have found it easily otherwise. There is a huge beautiful building right across from the Riverfront Mall and the hotel (can't remember the exact names) - we were told that this was to have been a fabulous casino, but they ran out of money - maybe bankruptcy - and all work was halted . What a pity! Good Luck...

There used to be a riveboat docked right at the Hilton. It has had a couple of names (Queen of the Hilton, The Flamingo). There are other boats in the suburbs (shouldn't be too hard to find). They are The Treasure Chest, Ballys and Frontiertown (or Frontierland). Have fun!
