Ritz Carlton on Maui
Plan to stay at the Ritz over Christmas holiday this year w/ my 15 year old son. If you've stayed there, I'd appreciate your comments/suggestions. Also, what activities other than snorkeling would you suggest we do? Thanks in advance.

We stayed at the Ritz a few years ago.VERY nice,,but IMO....it might be a little TOO quiet for a 15 year old.
The beach right there, isn't good for snorkeling. Kapalua Bay, next door is much better for that..The pool area isnt as "exciting" as say, the Hyatt.
IMO the Ritz is more suited for people looking to just relax in luxury..on the move teenagers might find it a little "boring"..
As for other things to do,, the previous poster had good ones..Lahaina is one of the neatest towns you will find. A must do after the sun goes down..

Have you considered the Grand Wailea? Some 15 year olds are pretty "above" the water activities thing, but some find it really entertaining. The pools, slides, river, etc and lots of other younger people may make his trip a whole lot more fun. And the GW is a very nice resort, adjacent to others so there's some variety too.
