Richmond VA, June 30-4
Hi,
We're planning on going to Richmond VA June 30-4th. It's just my husband and myself. Things we'd like to do is the zoo, maymont, the imax theater (to see superman), the free Edwin McCain concert in the park on Friday, the gardens, maybe Kings Dominon...
Are all these in OK areas? What hotel would be best if these are the things we want to do? (we'd like a quiet hotel) We're flying into Richmond and renting a car.
Also if you can recommend good resetuarants...
Thanks for any and all info!
Amy

The activities that you mentioned sound great. Maymont Park is beautiful and we enjoy the IMAX. Personally, I like to stay at the Berkeley or is it Berkley??, the Omni and of course, The Jefferson($$$). Restaurants: Europa, The Hard Shell, Sam Millers and the Tobacco Company. Your concierge can make reservations, given plenty of notice. The first two hotels that I mentioned allow you to walk to all of the restaurants mentioned. A short drive...5 min. from the Jefferson is included in their deal...a van drops you off and picks you up. We go downtown to celebrate various things...IMHO for service The Jefferson. The rooms with a king sized bed are not huge, but quaint and you leave feeling like royalty. For a superb room...the Berkley (sp)...a room with a king, a parlor and a big bathroom is awesome ($165p/n). Never had complaints with stays at the Omni, either. Kings Dominion is great as are the concerts on Fridays. I don't think you can go wrong. Don't know where you are coming from, but it is warm here!
