Return visit to the Tri-Cities

After moving from Kennewick in 1987, we are making our first return visit. This will be for my birthday in mid-May and it will be a significant one. The winery scene has certainly boomed, but which ones are anchoring the right side of the curve? I know BBC is long gone, so where to go for a exceptional birthday dinner? Unfortunately, this will be right before my wife's knee surgery, so we will be a bit limited, but what should we see that wasn't there previously? Candid admission, I'm a bit food/beverage centric. Thanks for any recommendations.

Our family left Yakima in 1987 as well. I have been back to the area a number of times though, most recently last summer when we passed through. We did not stop at any wineries so I can't help with that, but I just wanted to say that you will not recognize most of it. The entire area has exploded. Where it used to be that driving along 82 there was nothing between the little towns, but now wineries just line the highway. I think the only thing that has not changed is the amount of wind that Kennewick gets Sorry I can't be of more help, but enjoy
