Restaurants in Ogunquit-this weekend!

Heading to Ogunquit this weekend and am wondering where to eat? Any input would be appreciated! It's our anniversary and want something special and worth the trip. Thanks.

Although not in Ogunquit, I think you shouldn't miss at least a short visit to Portland, and especially the Old Port area. It is a wonderful little city, with a good number of excellant restaurants. My recommendation would be Street & Co.. They have excellent seafood that's prepared in an open kitchen, so you an see all the action! My favorite dish there, which is also one of their signature dishes, is Scallops in a Pernod Cream Sauce. Absolute heaven!
Enjoy your trip!

If you can get a reservation at this late date, Arrows in Ogunquit is the absolute best. And if you can't, Street & Company in Portland, as mentioned above, is a good choice too.

If it were MY anniversary, I'd have dinner at the White Barn Inn.

Donna's right on; the White Barn Inn is fabulous as well (it's in Kennebunkport, just up from Ogunquit). Let us know where you end up.

I third the White Barn Inn. I haven't been there since George Bush was President. (Secret Service Agents all over the place trying to be invisible--jeans, shiny shoes and heavy vests in August kind of gave them away!) But I still remember how wonderful it was. It was recommended by local folks and was I happy we had taken their suggestion. Have a wonderful time.

Want to second the nomination of Arrows - one of the nicest restaurants we've ever visited. You might get lucky if they have a late cancellation - certainly worth a try. Very expensive, but a memorable experience.

I fourth the White Barn Inn. It is a bit expensive, but it is the ultimate in service, ambiance and food.

We had dinner at the White Barn Inn last Friday night and the restaurant is one of the best, if not the best I've ever experienced. The service is beyond reproach and the 5 course dinner excellent. The "garden window" is something to be experienced by everyone if only to stop by for a drink at the bar. A 500 lb white pumpkin was the focal point with twinkle lighting, corn stalks, exotic gourds behind a floor to ceiling window...I couldn't take my eyes off this window all through dinner! I made my reservation 1 month in advance thinking that it would be really booked...it seemed busy but certainly not frantic. It's a truly beautiful room and setting and would be perfect for any special occasion
They have a website at whitebarninn.com if you want to see what on the menu. Let us know how you like it if you decide to go~!

Just got back from Ogunquit. We had no luck getting reservations at White Barn or Arrows. We opted for Jonathan's in Ogunquit. It was very nice, the food was good and the service but nothing really out of the ordinary. We also tried a restaurant recommended by our hotel called Cherrystones in Ogunquit. The lobster was really great but didn't have the atmosphere of a fancy restaurant. Thanks to all who replied.
