Any particular kind of food or budget? There are good inexpensive pizza restaurants (John's) and good expensive steak houses (Sparks, Delmonico's, Cite) with much in between. Do a search here on 'pre theater dinner', you'll get many suggestions. If it's good pre theater, it should be fine post theater.

There are 2 places that I like nearby. I often go to Tintol before a play at Laura Pels. It's just down the block and serves Portuguese-style tapas and has excellent wines. It will be decidedly more busy after the theater, so do make a reservation if you want to go there. You could also go to Le Marais (a French bistro that's kosher, if it matters to you) that is almost across the street from Tintol.

If you like excellent Cuban cuisine, Havana Central is very close:

Wonderful, "Hemingway-esque" atmosphere.

My pleasure ... I've been a fan of Havana Central since it first opened in Union Square.
The 46th Street location is relatively new, and MUCH larger.
Other great Cuban restaurants in NYC: Cafecito, on Avenue C, Havana Village in the West Village, and Son Cubano on 14th Street.
Enjoy!

Agree with the Langan's recommendation. Another possibility is Dervish, a Turkish restaurant, also on 47th.
