Restaurants/Attractions - The Finger Lakes

We are spending 5 nights in the Finger Lakes; 2 in Corning and 3 in Penn Yan (the Watkins Glen area). Other than the Glass Museum, any other good must sees? restaurant recommendations? Good Wineries?

Children, adults, what are your interests? Penn Yan and Watkins Glen are about 1/2 apart, give us details where and when and we can help.
Lots of great wineries -- what type of wine and atmosphere do you like? Great place to visit!!

I second a Wine tour. There are many, many great wineries in the Finger Lakes! Also, some quaint towns and B&B's in that area. It's a pretty lake area. Enjoy!

Here are my details: we're in our late forties, for this trip we are childless so we encourage suggestions that are not child friendly.

We enjoy food, wineries, relaxing and easy hiking. My DH has fond memories of Watkins Glen from his childhood so we will spend one day in that Park. We are not into fishing.

July 6: leave NJ, Comfort Inn for 1 night in Corning.

Monday July 7: spend the day in Corning and drive to Penn Yan. Staying at Fox Inn for 4 nights.

Tues, Wed, Thurs: Explore the region.

Friday July 11: Drive to Milford,PA. Staying at the Hattree Inn.

Saturday: Explore Milford which is a pretty little town, dinner with friends.

Sunday: visiting day at DD's camp in Milford. Drive back home to NJ.

You've picked a great B&B in Penn Yan, Cliff and Michele are great hosts! Wineries to check out - Keuka Lake; Dr. Franks, Rooster Hill, Ravines are must sees. The Village Tavern in Hammondsport for lunch or dinner while doing the wineries is great. Other restaurants - Madderlake Cafe and Ports on near Geneva. Fun "lake" event, take a cruise on the Viking Spirit on Keuka Lake, a nice evening cruise and great that you can take your own bottle of wine or refreshments. You'll find lots to enjoy!

Merlot, thanks for the info it was exactly what I was looking for. It's also good to know that we chose a good B&B.

You are also walking distance to a couple casual restaurants right in Penn Yan, Lloyd's, The Keuka and Holly's Sarrasins (a little longer walk, or short drive but right on the lake) these are fun and good but Madderlake and Ports are more upscale, gourmet restaurants. The Outlet Trail is nice for easy hiking and starts right in the Village of PY.
