Restaurants at MOMA and Bloomingdales

Any opinions on the restaurants at MOMA? How about at Bloomingdales? Or would you recommend others nearby? We'll be visiting both near lunch time this weekend. Thanks!

Actually, the cafe on the second floor of MOMA is quite good and quite reasonably priced. Don't be discouraged if there's a line to get in, as it moves fast.
There are two other restaurants in MOMA that are more expensive. I haven't tried them, but I understand they are also good.

You might want to stroll over to Serendipity when you're at Bloomingdale's.

The new restaurant in the Moma is Modern, by Danny Meyer (his first outside of the Gramercy area). It is currently open only to museum patrons, and I believe is still serving a limited menu. I have not been, but DM has a very solid reputation. While at Bloomingdale's, be sure to get their frozen yogurt (I prefer mine with raspberries and honey) - it is delicious.

Yes, Danny Meyer's restaurant at MOMA is very tony and trendy with an interesting menu and the food is probably very good. But for us, looking for a simple lunch during our museum visit, it wasn't what we were looking for...and was more expensive than we were willing to spend.

Le Train Bleu in B'dales is pretty good, or for a quick bite, 40 Carats downstairs. There's also a Patsy's Pizza & California Pizza around the corner. Don't forget to check out Dylan's. It's wonderful. They have all the candy/gum I remember from when I was a child!
