Restaurant crowds after Giants-A's game

So, we're taking the train up to a Saturday afternoon Giants-A's game and we want to go to one of the neighborhood restaurants (within walking distance) for dinner after the game. We can't make reservations 'cause who knows what time the game's going to be over. The new restaurant, Twenty-Four sounds nice, but can you get in on a Saturday night without reservations? We like to walk, but more than twenty minutes in any direction would be my limit. I'd like something better than a hamburger, but I'm open to suggestions.

Jeanne, post your question at www.chowhound.com. You'll probably get more responses than on this board for this particular question.

Jeanne: The restaurant is now the Acme Chop house. It was very good, however, I found it a tad expensive. They mostly had meat and fish with several a la carte items like garlic bread, garlic mashed potatoes. Each serving had meat, potatoes and vegetables.

Why don't you call them and find out about reservations vs non-reservations after the game. You could always make them for 6 pm and if the game is out early, walk along the waterfront.
Other suggestions would be MoMo's across the street . I had brunch there last year and it was very good. I'll try to find the article in the newspater, either Cronicle or Contra Costa Times which had a full page listing of all the restaurants in the area.

Jeanne: Go to www.bayarea.com and look under entertainment, then dining. There is the article concerning restaurants around the ballpark.

Go to the 21st Amendment brewpub and restaurant at Second and Brannan. You shouldn't need reservations, and the food and beer are great. It's my favorite spot for pre and post game suds.
