Repair Old Samsonite Roll On
HAs anyone ever repaired an old Samsonite?
My Roller bag is about 12 years old & I like because wheels are on outside and I can get ALOT od stuff on the hollow inside compared to the new ones.
Just wondering..I am pretty sure there is no warrently but would really like it refurbished: new wheels, new inside material (has Pepto Bismol spilled all over interior), matrial on bottem is worn out.

That sounds like it's time to get a new one - they make them smarter, better, lighter (important since the weight allowances are coming down), more durable...
Repair (if it can be done) probably costs as much as a new one if it's in the shape you describe...
Samsonite are still in business, you can always call one of their retail stores, there is one in Denver, it used to be visible from I70 as you drove from the airport into town, now it has moved to a nearby new mall, 303-373-7464

I'm not totally certain, but I believe Samsonite will repair its products free at any time. If you decide to repair rather than replace, google Samsonite and find their customer service 800 number and ask. They may direct you to an affiliated luggage repair shop in your area.

I would get a new one if you plan to do much flying. I have LOTS of suitcases but the new weight charges can be hefty. A light suitcase = a very good start on saving money.
I really like the rolling duffle set I just bought from LL Bean.

My Samsonite only has a 3 year warranty, and that is only for manufacturer's defects, not wear and tear.
The upscale brands that cover/warranty for life are Briggs and Riley and Swiss Army/Victorinox. There may be more; these are just the two I know of.
