I am going to Kauai with my mom and sister and want to rent an oceanfront house (my mom has bad asthma and most of the condos are on steep cliffs.) Any one rent a nice house in Kauai they would recommmend?

Clarification of terms:
oceanfront = fronts the ocean
beachfront = sea-level, fronting a beach

All of Princeville is on a bluff; some of it is oceanfront; none of it is beachfront.

If beachfront is important, and you want to be on the northshore, you'll be wanting to look for rentals in `Anini, Hanalei, Wainiha & Ha`ena. Just google online for "anini vacation rental", "hanalei vacation rental", etc.

Lots and lots of homes/cottages to see!

try vrbo.com (vacation rental by owner) - lots of homes and condos for rent and since renting direct with owner, usually cheaper than going through a rental agency.

When we went for our honeymoon we rented through kauaivacationrentals.com and I would definitely recommend them. They have a lot of places to choose from. I would suggest where we stayed but it's no longer available!

We just got back from Kauai renting a house in Princeville and it was AWESOME! There was nothing between us and the ocean but landscaping. The walls opened up so you could enjoy the ocean sounds. Beautiful house! We rented through Remax Kauai and the house is called Keoniana Kai. Loved it!
