I know a little bit about TBI, and it's tough because the injured person looks 'normal', so people can be callous when the person's responses are atypical.

It is the OPs first and only post. Surprised no one suggested it was a troll post earlier.
More likely - they have either forgotten how to get back here or have moved on or been reading without commenting or.....

Trolls Beware!!!
A troll is one anonymous person accusing another anonymous person for creating havoc. Please always remember--havoc and nasty comments are the sole domain of those whose false name appears regularly. You have no right to do that as a one time offense.
Additionally, the original post could be the most sincere troll to have appeared in some time.

P.S. I just checked...wait, let me confirm once again...Nope. NOT a troll. Sorry to disappoint @Dukey1.
@Tabernash2 is correct. I have been overwhelmed since my posting which was just a week ago. My husband has been quite ill and I am just now getting to read all the responses.
Thank you @IMDonehere for your comment.
You all have given me much "food for thought" on many aspects.

Back to the original query: someone upthread recommends Cleveland, Pittsburgh or Rochester (Mayo Clinic). I totally agree.
Here in Pittsburgh we have extensive hospital networks that attract patients from all over the world.
The weather should meet your needs, for although we have some hot and humid days, there aren't many of them, and they mostly occur just at midsummer.
Large LBGT communities and support services, and the inner city has many neighborhoods where liberals are in the majority.
You may be able to find a one bedroom apartment in your price range.
We are a little short on good public transportation, but careful choices of neighborhoods could put you in easy reach of great medical care.
I thought "Pittsburgh" the second I read your OP.

@tuscanlifeedit that all sounds amazing! I will let my husband know and we'll start doing some research. Thank you all so much for your replies and helpful advice, but I think tuscanlifeedit may have sewed this up for us.
Oh and just to re-affirm...see...NOT a troll lol *wink*

You might look at Omaha, where the U of N med school is located. It is ranked sixth in the nation in primary care by US News. http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsa...-care-rankings
The cost of living is relatively low and the town is fairly liberal compared to the rest of Nebraska. I've lived there twice and loved it each time.
