Amazing that IAD to EZE is so popular in here.

We are going in November, also.

I booked the tix in mid Jan at a cost of 80,000 for each BC ticket. Good deal considering UAL wants over $9000 for each.

Surprisingly the taxes were only a total of $64

yestravel - be careful about reserving tickets for people flying together with 2 seperate accounts. There must be a way to link the reservations, but I think you have to do it manually some way - calling the customer service department or something. The reason to make sure the reservations are linked is so that even if the flights change, you will still be flying together. When we made our reservations for Germany last year, we were using FF miles, so we made our plans months and months ahead. In the mean time our flights were changed 3 times. The times were reasonably close - departing at 7 rather than 9, etc. But the times and flights were changed. If our tickets hadn't been linked (in our case, purchased through the same FF account), we probably would have ended up on different planes - LOL.

J Correa, thanks so much for the info. Hadn't even thought about flight changes. I was concerned that maybe I could get one tix booked and then go to book the other tix and there would be no seats available. I will certainly check with customer service b4 I try to do a booking with separate FF accts. Dick, thanks for giving me your time frame. And yes, Argentina has gotten really popular. We did ff b/c with UA a few years back IAD to EZE and booked a couple months in advance with no problems and there was very little activity on this board on Argentina at that time. Don't know where the OP went, but appreciate the info from everyone that has helped me.

You can book two award tickets on one PNR with miles for each ticket coming from separate UA accounts (assuming of course that there are two award seats available). I've done this twice in the last two years. You will need to call to do this though--don't think you can do it online.

I think the availability to EZE is not bad considering that if you were flying there from IAD you have basically two Star Alliance options: the one daily nonstop on United, or take a United nonstop to Sao Paulo and connect to a Lufthansa flight south.
