Red Rock Resort for New Year's Eve

Hi there,
we will be in Red Rock for New Year's Eve and are wondering what the celebrations will be in Vegas and also at the resort?
Thanks in advance
Donna

You'll be 30 mins from the strip... the strip through on that day will take a few hours to get to/from as the main strip is closed down to traffic and you have to take back streets along with hundreds of others then walk to LV Blvd.

If you want to visit the strip just be prepared for it to take several hours back and forth. I don't even want to think about how long it will be to catch a taxi after midnight.

The Red Rock will definitely have their own celebrations, you may want to consider their nightclub Cherry for New Year's. There should also be a huge hundred throusand dollar bingo game that pays out between 2-3k per game but the buy in is usually around $200. There's definitely one at the Suncoast Casino about 5-7 mins away by car. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply.
We will stay at Red Rock for New Year's Eve.
Will you be able to see the fireworks/any celebrations from the resort?
Thanks
Donna

I'm not sure, totall depends on where your room is situated, some rooms are towards the mountain and others are overlooking the strip. I *think* the convention rooms have at least partial views of the strip, we held my spouse's 50th there. They may be closed off for private parties already though. Have also stayed at the hotel a few times.

I would call and request a strip view room now. Cherry the nightclub will probably also have srip views, you may want to ask about pre-reserving entrance to the club if it does have views. You'll need to be elevated for best views.

The movie "21" that was recently out with Kevin Spacey has many scenes from the Red Rock, including the pool scenes and the night club (Cherry) scenes as well as the casino. The pool shots are exclusively Red Rock.
