Rec for Hotels in Monterey, Carmel, Pacific Grove
We are looking for a hotel prefer with 2 room or adjoining rooms/kitchen and waterfront with ground floor deck/walk to the beach/bay. To make a true Fodor's challenge we like it to be under $300.00 a night in June...
We looked at the Sanctuary and a couple of homes but not coming up with many suggestions...I.E. if on the beach, no kitchen.
We may split up our accomodations as DH likes to wine taste but I don't want to drive..so thinking maybe 2 days in Monterey/Carmel and 3 days at Santuary
Any suggestions appreciated..

I'm not familiar with the Sanctuary.
How about the Marriot in Monterey? Right on the water. Walk to the fabulous Acquarium and many other sites. Most hotels in Carmel are not on the water, although all are within walking distance.

cabo, Sanctuary is beach resort in Marina--the area above Sand City and Seaside, it's about 12 miles north of Monterey.
IJAR as cabo has stated there are no places on the beach in Carmel. The Marriott is on the water but its not a ground floor deck/walk to any beach kind of place.
You might want to take a look at Mission Ranch. Or if you are up for a splurge the Inn at Spanish Bay.

carmelcalifornia.com prettiest town nicest beach/village vibe
easy to walk around. Tally Ho my fav but a bit more $ usually than you want early $200s or so.
www.booking.com/hotel/us/carmel-lodge.en.html many other options here. betterbidding.com for Carmel deals sometimes for me.
Happy Hunting!

I'm in Monterey right now and aside from being born here, I've come here once a year for nearly 30 years. And stayed at a number of the hotels in and around Monterey.
With that background in mind (!) I would suggest something like the Lamplighter Inn in Carmel. It's a very short walk to the beach in Carmel -- and I LOVE that beach! (It's a dog friendly beach, so you have to be okay with that).
Don't know, however, if they have a kitchen. Don't think so, but I haven't stayed there.
The Marriott in Monterey is not right on the water. It's close to Fisherman's Wharf. Closer to the wharf and across the street from the Marriott is the Portola, formerly a Doubletree. Neither of these properties have kitchens and neither are either on or near the beach. But yes, both are close to the bay.
The hotels on cannery row, like the Monterey Plaza, are in fact, right on the water but are all beyond your budget.
There's also a couple of B&B's in Pacific Grove that are directly across the street from the beach you might want to look at. But again, no kitchen.
