Reasonable hotel in Santa Barbara area

I will be travelling to the SantaBarbara area in October. Does anyone have a good hotel, not too pricey?

Hi--not sure what range of price you have in mind, but we stayed here in May one year--2002, I think--and it was a very nice place, low-key but lovely and a *great* breakfast....

During the week or on a weekend? Most places require two nights on the weekends.

W/o knowing your budget it is really hard to give you any sort of advice. "not too pricey" will mean many things to many people . . . . . .

I'm looking for under $200. Does anyone else know anything about the Old Yacht Club Inn?

We stayed at the Sandman Inn on State Street, up the road from the 101. It is a funky motel type but very clean, nice people, nice grounds and landscaping and a big continental breakfast in the morning. I think they are around $135 mid week.

We didn't stay at the BW Pepper Tree on State Street, but it looked very nice from the road.

Motel6 #002 is half-mile from Sandman Inn and half the price.

Hi maylin,
The Holiday Inn Express is under $200 a night. I think about $158 or so. And yes, you can get a room for just one night. It is on Haley Street, about a half a block off State Street. Lots of shops, restaurants, bars in the immediate vicinity. Beach, about a 5-10 minute walk away.
minnie.
