NO, wait -- I forgot. They're opening a new traffic configuration right in front of the Sheraton and Hampton in a week or so, and my honest guess is that it's going to snarl traffic unbelievably. So scratch that.

Try the Courtyard or perhaps the Millenium in Durham (have heard some decent reports).

Or to go back to upscale, the Washington Duke -- convenient mainly just to the pretty campus on a pretty setting, but very nice.

Ncgrrl, the only tickets left at UNC are to the Kent State game in January. All other men's individual games are sold out at the box office. She would have to go through one of the ticket agencies and pay more, if they still have any left.

NC Girl, thanks, I am still reading this. Unfortunately, I can not come back for a little while. My son is involved in so many sports right now, along with his school work we are very busy. But we will try to make a trip sometime next year. Not sure basketball will still be in season though. Next year we will definitely time it right.
Thanks again.

Gretchen,we only bought a lot near the Knoxville area, not a house. I am not moving to Fearrington. I mentioned I would not mind having a second home in that area.
After visiting the Knoxville area again, where our lot is located(Near Maryville) we did not feel as comfortable with the locals, as we do in the Chapel Hill area. Very different. However, the area where we purchased the lot is stunning. Right on the Tennessee River, and the mountains are so beautiful. But you have to feel comfortable with your surroundings no matter where you are. Hopefully the lot will become a decent investment.

Can someone tell me what the average temperature, high and low would normally be in February and March? Thanks. If a townhouse comes available in Fearrington we might buy one. Problem is when they do become available they go real fast. They do a great job at leaving trees there. The Universty area is very exciting also.
Again, sorry about constantly having to change id's. For some reason one woman usually complains. It seems like Gretchen, because she has complained about me over a year ago. And as anyone can see, there is no reason for this. 99% of everyone has been real helpful and I appreciate it.

Funny comment about Gretchen. Earlier versions of this poster complained about me, then iceeu2 and then others. An infrequent poster with frequent complaints.

BTW, what did Gretchen say that was so bad "this time"?

Thanks for the weather. Gretchen did not say anything bad.I am just guessing. She can be a little sarcastic though. But then again, so can I. Some people just love to complain about nothing. Actually I remember you complaining also. I remember now that you use to answer everyone's posts. People use the name troll too much on these sites.
Anyway really does not matter, this site is not my life, but it does helps a lot. This particular subject that I started was my personal best that I enjoyed. Everyone on here was not only nice but extremely helpful. Great recommendations also.

So you complained about Gretchen even though "did not say anything bad"?

Okey, dokey.

Seems like some things haven't changed.

Al, I don't even know how to complain about anything on this site, and WHAT would I have complained about. We have been round the horn with you in every state in the South looking for a vacation home and you reported that you had found THE PERFECT PLACE in Tennessee. I was really interested that now it isn't.

Starrsville trying to stir up trouble again. I never put in a complaint about Gretchen, I only recipricated your complaint and it was well deserved. I try to keep this to a travel and recommendation site, but there are those, who like to talk too much. I won't name, names. I am gettiing starry eyed.

Gretchen, not this time around but last you were a little sarcastic, which again is fine. I actually like when you are feisty. I could not think of anyone else who it would have been. Now that I think about it I am sure it was our starry eyed friend.
Again, I am sorry to those who even have to read this. 99% of the posters have been extremely helpful and I thank you all. Even if Starr get's me kicked off again for no reason, I will be back when it is time for my next trip, in several months. Thanks again to all of those in the Chapel Hill area, who have been helpful.

"Again, sorry about constantly having to change id's. For some reason one woman usually complains. It seems like Gretchen, because she has complained about me over a year ago. "

Ummm...you have changed your screen name three times on this thread and blamed others for having to do so. I must be missing the trouble anyone else is causing you.

But, you start in on Gretchen and then say she didn't do anything?

Strange. Very, very strange.

Very strange that you blame me when I haven't even been on this thread until I asked what Gretchen did that was a problem for you.

I actually had mistaken Gretchen for you. You were the one who complained about everyone. Now I remember that you had to be a part of everyone's posts no matter what site they are on. Try other hobbies, it might do you some good. I remember they had to erase a few of your posts, can not deny that.

Ummm... I didn't show up on this post until you complained about Gretchen.

What did she do again?

Who caused you to change your name three times on THIS thread - in 2007? You keep blaming others. Just wondering who that might be?

Starrsville, it was you who caused me to change my names 3 times. You sound a little obsessed. Again, this site is helpful from 99% of the people. You are the 1% who likes to complain as you have with others. Unlike you, this site is not my life. I don't think Gretchen needs you sticking up for her, she can hold her own. Again, you still did not deny getting your own posts removed.
Anyway, looking forward to my next visit to the Chapel Hill area.

Starrsville, it was you who caused me to change my names 3 times.

Ummmm....Bigal 9, 12 and 5 - during 11/25/2007 and 12/27/2007...
You posted on THIS thread in THIS year in ONE month and used THREE names... all before I posted the first response to you. How is it again that you are blaming ME for your need to change your screen name three times? It just doesn't make any sense at all.

BTW, neither does your claim that you didn't complain about Gretchen when she did nothing wrong. Just reading your posts prove that - and that you are still blaming other folks for your problems.

Again, this is the LAST time I will respond to this individual. If you check her posts over the last several years(which there are many)you will see that not only is she a so called "expert" in every state and city, that she also complains a lot, and she herself had POSTS removed, which she is NOT denying.
Seems like you are botherd a lot more than Gretchen. Again, she has no problem answering for herself. Give it up. Seriously, there are more important things in life than typing on this site 24/7. Again, thanks to all who have been helpful. I will talk to you before and after the next trip, which unfortunately will be several months. Baseball season down in Florida is very serious, as is football. Of course my oldest son is involved in both!!

"Again, thanks to all who have been helpful"

Why, you are very welcome. You thanked me after my FIRST (helpful) post to you on this thread. Glad to be of help.

The rest of your stuff is nonsense. You say that others caused you to change your screen name three times in the last month or so. But, one can easily read this thread and no one was "mean" to you and you changed your screen name three times for no apparent reasons.

Just strange when you blame others for "making" you change your screen name - and no one did.
Just strange when you complain about Gretchen - when she did nothing wrong.
Just strange when you agree that Gretchen did nothing wrong - but then blame me just after you thank me for my post.
Just strange that you go back in time and have bad things to say about Fodorites - when all they tried to do is be helpful to you in your many posts.

Just strange IMO anyway.

BTW, I was in the mountain community iceeu2 recommended to you Georgia yesterday visting another Fodorite who has a home there. You "blamed" iceeu2 back then for being mean, and then called...I think GoTravel... "anti-kid" (and of course GoT had not said anything CLOSE to being "anti-kid". I'm headed to MY mountain place in after church today. Lots of Fodorites living their lives in the mountains of GA, TN, NC and the foothills of SC - who tried to help you and got slammed time and time and time again a year ago.

So, THIS year most of us remain silent. Until, Gretchen asks you a question about the place you bought in TN - and then the blame game starts all over again.

Just strange to me - that's all.

Glad you found some "locals that you can feel comfortable with" in Chapel Hill.
