J., I forgot to mention, I am in a process of convincing my husband it would be a great idea to come to Anchorage in February-March for a week or so and volunteer for Iditarod. What do you think? But I heard that besides two museums there is nothing to do.

Pat2003~ Oh behave, lol. I can only play peacemaker here for so long before I deteriorate into my alter ego Auntie Mame(okay, I have a few highlights and old Mame never did wear biking shorts...)

Tell Mr. Pat that you want to experience the Iditarod. There are volunteers from every state practically. The friends you can make!
You may even find time to have a sled ride during Fur Rondy. I did that downtown on a track for about ten bucks when my oldest son was young.
You can park your husband at the Loussac library since he is a reader.
Would kitty be coming? If so, we must find her proper winter booties and a small woolen snowboard hat to tie under her chin. I will babysit and sip my peppermint schnapps and cocoa(heart healthy). J.

J., Mr. Pat (ah! he would like this name) said he is going to watch over me while I'm volunteering. Btw, J., we have to stop meeting here. I need to get ready for my business trip coming this week. All papers to be collected and more. I don't even know where I'm staying in Paris. I know my itinerary for Dubai. I'll have a bowl of blueberries for lunch and think of you berry picking in Soldotna. Take care

Okay, you are excused. I am on a big health kick this week anyway and need to get moving asap.
Take care and have a safe and wonderful trip and post your exciting moments when you return., J.

I wouldn't worry about the rain. You'll miss mountain vista, but you may see more wildlife. We took our "Captain's Choice" cruise out of Seward on a day so misty and foggy you could barely see the other boats in the small boar harbor. In fact, several people decided to cancel and we had only 11 people on board. We couldn't believe the Orcas, Humpbacks, black bears, porpoise, and birds we saw. There was a fellow passenger who helped us identify sea birds that are now on my life list. So enjoy, and if it is really raining, go to the Title Wave bookstore in Anchorage on Northern Lights. We picked up many new and used books about Alaska and by Alaska writers, which have helped continue our trip once we arrived home.
