I just booked a refundable 'Petite room' in that hotel for $120/night. Is this a nice area? Nice hotel? How petite is their petite room? Thank you.

Is this near the old Helmsley and the Waldorf Area? If so, this is the one I got a great deal on via the net; I never made it to the hotel (rooms were reserved 9/11/01), but one of my colleagues did and was highly dissappointed.

I've never been to NYC before so I'm not sure what this hotel is next to. All I know its the only Radisson in Manhattan.

Fred: Great area, surrounded by lots of good hotels, Waldorf, Intercontinental, W, and Benjamin. Unfortunately the Radisson is one of the more tired looking hotels on Lexington Avenue. The location is convenient to all midtown attractions but any of the other hotels I mentioned above would be better choices. The prices I'm sure will also be higher.

Fred, I can't imagine how small a "petite room" is going to be. Standard or normal rooms in Manhattan tend to be extremely small, even at good hotels. Don't be surprised if your room is the size of a walk-in closet. But, then again, you get what you pay for, and $120 is a steal in NYC. Excellent location, without a doubt.

I did some research on the sizes of several hotel rooms in the mid-town area. The Radisson's "petite" rooms are 180sq. Compared to the Hudson and Paramount hotels (110sq) and Sheraton Manhattan (165sq) which are all comparable 3-star hotels that are more expensive and have "standard" rooms that are smaller than the Radisson's "petite" rooms. However, additional research as found that most guest that have posted feedback on their stay at the Radisson were mostly disappointed in the furnishings and upkeep of the hotel.
