Quiet Hotel on Beach

I'm looking for a casual upscale hotel/resort on the beach with an adult atmosphere. Any suggestions?

So, Mary, that means you're interested in beaches in Washington, Oregon, and California.
From Bellingham to San Diego.

The best resort on the FL gulf coast is the Ritz Carlton Naples. It isn't exactly casual though.
There are a few decent places closer to or in the Keys.
There's also the Resort at Longboat Key near Sarasota.
