quick one day 'tour' Harvard College &Boston Commons

I am thinking of doing a 'day' trip from Fairfield County Ct to show relatives from South American Harvard College and Boston Commons. I believe it is about 3 hours from where I live. As elderly, I would be places to stop for bathroom and easy places to park at both sites. My wife and I cannot really walk long distances, but 10-20 blocks probably ok. I would like some ideas regarding parking, etc, any pointers?

Hi JackGlasser, when I visited the college, it was from the T so I wasn't paying attention to parking around Harvard, however, have you checked about parking lots by Harvard's art museums? Hope some Fodorites can help.
