Question re: Sunset on the Beach on Oahu
Hi! I'm going to Oahu in a couple of weeks (love that island!) with a big group, and I wanted to take them to Sunset on the Beach, which I attended with a girlfriend last Feb and had a great time. A huge movie screen is set up on Waikiki beach, and you get to watch a movie right on the beach with snack food stands nearby. So much fun! However, in looking at the movie listing on the website (www.sunsetonthebeach.net) for the weekend we'll be there (July 24th and 25th), it says "Pearl Harbor Sunset in the Park". Does anyone know exactly where this is? Obviously, near PH, but is there a specific park? Is it still on the beach, or is the park removed from the beach? I loved sitting on the beach watching a movie, and am a little disappointed at the thought of it instead being in a park. Anyone been to a Pearl Harbor Sunset in the Park? Thanks for any advice you can give!

Sorrry to take so long Buzzmom.. I kept remembering to call after business hours!
Anyway, the PH sunset will be at Richardson Field, a park across the street from Aloha Stadium and on Pearl Harbor. It's a big park, they have concerts there occasionally, and there is penty of parking there or over at the stadium.
You could go early and visit the Aloha Swap meet (the souvenirs are cheap there!). The swap meet usually ends about 2, but food booths are a big part of Sunset on the beach or parks, so maybe it'll be open late that day.
You can't swim in PH, but there is a nice walkway along the water from the park. You could walk toward the Arizona Memeorial or toward Pearl City-the prettier walk!

lcuy -- Thanks so much for taking the time to obtain this info for me. I think we will take your suggestion and attend the swap meet and then head over for the the movie and some munchies. Only 13 days to go, and we are all sooooo excited. Thanks again, I really appreciate it!
