Question about buying airline tickets on Priceline
I have never used Priceline. However, I have been looking for flights from Tampa to Atlanta for myself and two children. I've never paid more than $110 round trip. I've been looking for weeks in all the standard places and they haven't gone below 176. I will not fly Air Tran and I'm concerned that's what I'll get on Priceline. Does anyone know if (or how)you can you can make such a request to exclude Air Tran? Thanks.

You can't choose airline, times, etc. I don't know if AirTran is part of the Priceline network, though. I'd review the website carefully and then e-mail Priceline directly if you can't find what you need.
I've flown AirTran twice this year and I think they're fine. The new 717s are nice. Nicer than Delta's older raggedy planes, IMHO.

To answer your question directly, it does not seem that Priceline uses AitTran as a supplier of airline tickets.
As a previous poster mentioned there is a online bulletin board that is a MUST READ if you are going to use Priceline - it shares bidding advice, strategies and winning bids that everyone has gotten, so it provides information and guidance as to how to best place your bids. Here is the link:

The bulletin board has saved me hundreds of dollars in airfare and hotel - with this information board, I'm sold on Priceline!!

Thank you Karen, John and Anthony. I'm going to search the sites you've suggested before I try Priceline. BTW John, the reason I won't fly AirTran is safety concerns. It's the former ValueJet and the FAA has expressed concern about their procedures in regards to safety. There's an interesting article titled "Fire in the Sky" in the Air Safety Online website archives if you're interested.
