Quaint B&B Towns

Every year I go away for a long weekend to see the foliage. I live in New Jersey and am willing to travel several hours. I'm looking to stay in a cute, quaint town that has some shopping, restaurants and things to do close by. Just returned from Rhinebeck, NY. Have been to Lenox, MA, Woodstock, Vt, Essex Ct., Ridgefield, CT and other similar places. I am looking for some new ideas of towns to visit. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We spent last weekend in The White Hart Inn in Salisbury Ct and travelled around there. It was rather lovely and the food in the restaurant in the hotel was good too

New Hope Pennsylvania. There is a playhouse, antique shopping, Lamberville is right across the bridge. Great restaurants. Usually crowded but a popular destination.

I second the New Hope, Pennsylvania idea. It's a very lovely quaint village with plenty to see and do.
