Public Transit from Paramus to NYC
Hi everyone,
I will probably be in Paramus again at the end of August and would like to head into NYC for a day or two, we will have a car however wanted to know if there is public transport available. I have looked on the NJ Transit website and from what I see there is service to Penn Station NYC from Hoboken...but I'm not clear on how and where everything works.
Hopefully some locals can help me out a bit
Thanks!
Layla

Here is a link to the New Jersey Transit trip planner. It can provide both bus and train options.

If you hadn't noticed it, here's a link to the enitre NJ Transit commuter train system. These trains might have more limited schedules during non-commuting hours.

This does not include the PATH train system, which is shown on the link that follows. The PATH system is more like a subway with stops both in New Jersey and Manhattan.

For many areas of New Jersey, the bus system offers the most frequent and comprehensive service to Manhattan. Here's a link to transport in Bergen County, where Paramus is located:

There are no tricks, Aucho.
The number 168 bus goes from Paramus (stop at the Paramus Park Mall, for example) to NYC (port authority). Takes about an hour.
Here's a PDF of the schedule, but the NJ Transit site also gives other options if you prefer to drive elsewhere to pick up a train instead of a bus, or a bus that originates elsewhere and stops in Paramus along the way
