I love P-town!! My husband and I really enjoy visiting there every year. As for things to do, we usually go on a whale watch (we recommend the Portugese line), walk around down their main street to check out the sights and shops, visit the sand dunes (National Seashore is on the way there), and eat at some very eclectic restaurants. If you like the sun and beach, there is certainly plenty to do for 4 days. I highly recommend this part of the Cape (if you can get past the rest of the traffic to get there!!).

I was in PTown in May for the first time and loved it. As for things to do, you will find plenty. I definitely recommend taking a whale watching cruise. We saw too many whales to count- it was definitely a highlight. We only had 1 day in all of Cape Cod but could have easily filled up several. There was a lot we didn't see. Check out the Cape Cod National Seashore and definitely downtown PTown. If you like vegetarian food, there is a bohemian vegie place with the best vegie burger I've ever had in downtown PTown. Have a great time!

(So far, so good -- no troll/flame throwing)

With 4 days to spend, I'd make sure you take at least one day (midweek) to explore more of the Cape south of P'town unless all you want from life is restaurants and a scene. The beauty of the Cape is in its dunes, cliffs, and beaches. Go see the Highland Light, Nauset Beach, etc. Check out the Nat'l Seashore headquarters (on Rt. 6) and get an overview if you need one, but don't spend all 4 days sleeping off what you did the night before -- you'll miss the real Cape.

Mark,

I love Ptown. The national sea shore has some great bikes trails. Rent a bike and enjoy a wonderful ride. The beaches are beautiful in Ptown, the sights and shops are interesting. There are quite a few art galleries and usually some good shows and plays to take in.

Have fun...

Other than great ideas already suggested, check out the sunset at Race Point beach. Try some Portuguese kale soup. There are some fun night time things as well. Many shows featuring female impersonators are a riot. Lots of art, antiques, etc will keep you busy. Don't know if they still do it but Tea, mid afternoon at the Boatslip, was always a big event. Some interesting guest houses on Commercial Street will certainly find you in comfortable company.
Don't know where you are coming from or how you will be getting there, but there is now a hydrofoil that runs back and forth to Boston.
Depending on how much time you have you can also go top the mid-cape where there is bunches of stuff to do as well.
You may want to call the P-Town visitors bureau and find out what may be going on the time you are there.
Enjoy
