Providence, RI Restaurants - Help Us
Hubby and I are in town one night only, and booked at the Biltmore. So, what we need now is one dynamite place to have dinner, which we can reach on foot or by taxi. He's cheap about rental cars, but easy pickings when it comes to meals, so it's to be a splurge (it's my 39th, 3rd time, lol). Where should we eat?

If you love Italian go up to Federal Hill.
You can walk.
Suggestions: Mediterraneo (the mayor's favorite).
Empire: Pricey but good.
Cafe Nuovo: Right next to the Waterplace Park.
Davios is just ok.
Have the hotel make reservations for you.
PS you can walk to all of the above.
If you go to the Mall your option would be the Napa Grill.
My first choice would be the Mediterraneo.

I'll second Cafe Nuovo. Save room for dessert because they are works of art as well as yummy. The menu is unusual. Walk up to the canal and turn right. The restaurant is on the ground floor of a tall building on the other side of the canal. You can't see the sign until you're there.
