"Wishing you the best", starrs? When you're the reason he's leaving the forum? A new low of passive-aggressive trolling, even for you.

grahamduncan, don't go off in a huff. You've gotten excellent advice from a lot of people, and you can ignore what you don't like.

As for the Lounge, they can't delete it fast enough for me. Its existence encourages bad behavior on all the boards.

Starrs,

This is for you, not the OP. I did not think your post was anything but polite. You were trying to be helpful. You kind of agreed to disagree, and wished the best for the OP regardless. I agree with you totally about the hint thing. DH did it a couple of times before we got engaged, and when nothing followed soon after the hint, I was disappointed and annoyed. Some women might be fine with hints for a year. I was not, and finally said so. I wanted to know if he was playing around and pretending, or serious. Serious? Get engaged now, married before another year went by! We went and picked out a ring right then, together, which is a lovely memory. I would prefer to get engaged, get married and go to NY for the honeymoon. We have our 49th anniversary this month.

For the OP,
Sometimes we get an idea, we think is so wonderful, we get totally tied to it, and we are not open to the possibility of anything else. Sometimes it is a wonderful idea, but sometimes, we are wrong or it could be better. There is no offense intended by someone offering what they actually think may be helpful. They have no stake in it and nothing to lose or gain.

Thank you, Sassafrass.
That was my personal experience also.
