Problems With New Fodors Site

Anyone notice there are some technical problems with the new site. For instance, several of my posts have become completely lost. They literally disappear once they are posted. Second, the notification email when someone replys to your post doesn't direct you to the actual post, instead there are generic html tags.

I have actually written to fodors about these issues but no response. This is what the old site used to be like. No response. Maybe they will read this thread and look into these glitches.

Cheers.

I agree! I was so excited when I was notified there was a reply to my posting, only when I went to the site I couldn't find it! Also, the search tool doesn't work well, as I entered in the exact phase I used in the title and it didn't find it. Let's hope these things are fixed soon!

Ditto! And we'll see if this ever shows up! I tried to reply to someone w/ a question re: Mauii 3x, and it disappeared into ethernet. And when I tried to email them directly, it bounced back! No point spending a half hour giving helpful advice all for naught! And when I type in Montreal, I get stuff from all over the place! I think their changes recently haven't been overly helpful.

I've found the new site to be great! C'mon, guys, this is the best free site for travel I've seen, and they don't even make us do that annoying resgistration crap! But I have noticed that things seem to work better for me from work where I use MS Explorer browser than at home where I have Netscape Navigator. Keep up the good work Fodor's! WE love you!!!!

I agree this is a great site. This is exactly why Fodors should take the time to fix aspects of their site that aren't working. Especially when users are contacting them and alerting them to these problems. They should remove the functionality entirely if they have no intention of keeping it operational.

When I try to post in a certain specialty forum (ie new york or california) my post ends up in only the general US forum and not the specialty. This tends to limit the replys. Help!

It is my understanding that there are not seperate forums for each state. The "search" function is simply that-it searches the US forum and pulls out items that you request. When you post, it posts into the US Forum, simply because you are still in the US Forum. I can completely see why it's a little confusing though!
