Kal, you might enjoy PSC for a drink, it does have bar. Just skip the food.

Thanks, Janisj. I'll have to keep Greens in mind when we are in the area near the Presidio. I have to get my map out but is it close to the Exploratorium or is that too far east? A street map doesn't show you where the hills are either so what might look like an easy stroll could be an uphill or downhill trek.

Regarding the art museums, we will see how the day goes whether or not we can do both DeYoung and Legion of Honor or if we can even do one of them. Our main focus will be the California Academy and I also want to stop by the Conservatory of Flowers and Japanese Tea Garden. After all that we might not even have time for De Young although it is close by so at least we can see the architecture on the outside if we don't make it inside this trip.

Glad you had a good time and it worked out well for you in Napa despite the rain.

Thanks StuDudley,

Is Greens within walking distance of the Exploratorium? Also can you walk from the Exloratorium to the Disney Museum? It looks like it but I want to double check.

I have to refer back to your great guide of things to do in San Francisco. Thanks for the effort of putting it together. Didn't you mention there is a good vantage point or photo op from that area of the Golden Gate Bridge?

There are great photo ops along the shore there - especially from Crissy field. Explortorium & Greens are about 10 blocks apart. You can get some hills walking into the Presidio - but there is probably a flat route, but I've never driven or walked on it.

Stu Dudley.

No hills between the Explortorium and Crissy/Disney/Greens, the Explortorium is built on landfill from the 1906 quake and the part of the Presidio where Disney is located (the main post) and Crissy Field is located is also flat. There are steep climbs up to the GGBridge however.

Totally walkable. I was staying just outside the Presidio Lombard gate and walked from there to the Disney Museum - then back to the motel to check in, and a bit later from the motel to the Marina Green and the to Ft Mason/Greens. Was also going to walk back after dinner (maybe 10-ish flat blocks) but as I left Greens someone was arriving by cab so I hopped in for the drive back.

Speaking of hills though -- from Lombard to the Park the most direct route is Divisidero to Fell -- and Divisidero totally brought back painful memories of driving my Datsun roadster and Spitfire up and down those hills
