How do you make the vacation memories last? Unique ideas appreciated!

With travel journals and photos. The icebox magnets help. Too often, the friendships wane over time, unless several repeat trips are made.

Periodically going through the photo albums and the journals; brings it all back. Sigh.

I like to buy jewelry or clothes on vacation. Every time I wear them it takes me back to what I saw and how I was feeling at the time.

The same way I preserve and enjoy my memories of daily life...through photographs. It is even more fun now that there are such things a digita; cameras. Now I can share my memories with friends, family and even YOU by sending you to my online photo galleries at:

www.pbase.com/peterb

Enjoy them if you wish!

IO like pbase because there are no ads or spam...a private site.

Of course I have all these images backed up on CDs and a couple of hard drives as well and enjoy running them as "slide shows" on the PC.

My favorites are photos and travel journals, of course, but I also like to buy things for my home. Every time I see or use the item I am transported back to where I bought it. For instance, every time I am cooking and lay a spoon on my spoon rest from Florence. Sigh....

Love the screensaver "slideshow" on our computers! It keeps me mesmerized on a daily basis. Between that and Fodor's, it's a wonder I get any work done at all.

We also try to buy a piece of artwork everywhere we go. Nothing too elaborate (usually). However, there have been times when we haven't found anything we really liked. In those cases, we just buy a shot glass .
